Assistant Banquet Manager
Reporting to the Banquet Manager, the incumbent will oversee the execution of assigned banquet events to ensure optimum performance and superior guest service. He/she must assist the Centre in servicing the events, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction and adherence to consistent service standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in supervising and managing the day-to-day activities of the Banquet staff. Ensure all staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions.
· Ensure that all Banquet events are executed according to Event Order to client’s satisfaction.
· Ensure client feedback is communicated and acted upon internally and manage timely resolution of any issues.
· Monitor and maintain procedures to (1) ensure the security and proper storage of banquet inventory and equipment, (2) ensure the security of monies, credit and financial transactions, (3) replenish supplies and inventory etc. in a timely and efficient manner
· Assist in establishing par levels for supplies and equipment.
· Ensures that all duties, tasks and services are carried out according to the required standards as prescribed by the Centre and in a timely manner.
· Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.
· Conduct briefings to Banquet team, prior to execution of event.
· Assist Banquet Manager in event forecasting and requisitions.
· Perform any other duty as assigned
Requirements
· Diploma in Hospitality management or relevant qualifications
· Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in Banquet operations
· Good interpersonal communication skills and customer oriented with a can-do attitude
· Fluent in spoken English
· Able to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
· Cheerful and outgoing disposition
· Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
· Comfortable with technology and paperless business processes
· Able to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays
